Stakeholders and Funding

The project needs to raise £1.8 million for the first four phases.

The Lambhill Stables Development is an innovative proposal being developed by the Lambhill Stables in partnership with the Coach House Trust and other key stakeholders.

Lambhill is a relatively underdeveloped area which has not received much attention or investment from recent regeneration programmes. The current emphasis on enabling local communities to develop their own enterprising solutions to major development issues is a key driver in the proposal, in partnership with relevant stakeholders, including the Glasgow North Regeneration Agency and British Waterways and the Waterways Trust for Scotland. The project is also being carried forward by the energy and commitment of local residents and other partners on the LDT who see the considerable potential of the proposal to contribute to wider regeneration plans, particularly the employability framework.

More funding is being sought through the Lottery Community Planning Partnership, Community Health Care Partnership and a range of public private funding bodies. It is anticipated that LDT will rely primarily on grant fund and sponsorship for the capital development costs. Long term Lambhill Stables aims to develop the Lambhill Stables as a self sufficient social enterprise.

expected income generation coming from:

Reduce need for bought in power – green building/public plant room for demonstration/increase awareness of renewable energy. Geothermal original build. Corporate funding via energy companies/landfill/mining and quarrying.
